New powder coating service Devon at CES engineering. We have been building a new powder coating section at our North Devon location for the last few weeks. Well we have now started to do some powder coat testing on smaller items until our main large ovens are ready. We really cannot wait to start this new venture as we know our existing clients and new clients also will benefit from powder coating services also.

Today we we did some tests on smaller motorcycle items to see how we fair. We were amazed! It’s all about preparation. Using the correct method of cleaning and prepping an item for powder coating is really key.

We took a motorbike fork brace and media blasted the part, then made sure using chemicals that the part was really really clean of any contaminants and dust.

We did a test on this fork brace first. Making sure the oven was at the right temperature we placed it in and waited for it to warm up. It warmed up quickly and we took the brace out and started the powder coating.

Once we coated the brace we then put it back into the oven to cure.  Bellow is the result!

We will be testing larger items from this next week and hopefully going live with taking orders from mid July.
